What is an ISA Certified Arborist?

In short: Someone else verifies that this arborist knows what he's doing. Earning an ISA Certified Arborist credential through the International Society of Arboriculture® involves passing rigorous testing in all aspects of arboriculture. Holding this certification also means that we prioritize safety protocols and stay up-to-date with any new requirements. This ISA certification is accredited by the American National Standards Institute, and holding it means we are equipped to better protect you and your property during tree removal and trimming. We also understand the importance of continued education, availing ourselves of every opportunity and making the world a safer place, one tree at a time!

Pruning

WHAT INSPIRED US TO START A TREE SERVICE BUSINESS?

A forty-foot tree branch growing over our house needed to be cut down. Using our wits and knowledge of the proper rope hitches that I acquired as an Eagle Scout, we cut the branch with a rope saw. Then we slowly lowered it, using ropes and the tow rings on the front of our truck to create friction.
Our neighbors heard the limb crack and came to investigate what damage had been done. When they heard that we had safely cut and lowered the tree branch without taking our feet off the ground, one of them exclaimed, "You should start a tree service!”
At first, we laughed at the idea. But a few months later we performed our first tree job, armed with a chain saw, a borrowed cable line for pulling over trees, and a come-along.

Mike does excellent work! Always reliable, on time, and keeps his word. Mike has cut two trees for us. Two separate times. He can do dangerous jobs and make them look easy!

Mike was great. We had Mike out to evaluate a large oak which had cables installed prior to our property purchase. He gave great advice on that tree, removed some branches to reduce the weight, and included a follow up to discuss soil test results. He also removed some other branches over a garage, an oddly growing tree in our front yard at our request, and took down some other dead trees threatening a shed.

Where other companies were focused on what they could remove completely, Mike was focused on giving honest answers to our questions, and when possible leaving live trees in place so they could continue providing all the benefits we expect from trees.

Will definitely be following up with Mike when our cables are due for reinspection, and will be recommending him to others for tree work (and have already recommended him to a realtor neighbor).

Absolutely the best to work with. They arrived promptly, worked very hard, and cleaned up well. It is very apparent they care for trees as much as I do!

Michael cut down two dangerous trees for us both were cut down safely and successfully exactly where he said they would fall.
No damage done to nearby buildings.
I had him leave one tree where he had dropped it but the other one I had Michael clear and take it away. He did and left the place clean neat and tidy. Excellent work, guaranteed safe and secure, professionally done.

We hired Michael as an arborist and to take down trees. We had some dangerous trees on our new property and Michael helped us sort out what was and wasn't a problem. Then, we hired him to take down the dangerous trees. Michael was on site himself the whole time. He was prompt and did exactly what we asked. He cleaned up and made sure my wife and I were satisfied. We live in a community on a lake with strict association, county, and Duke Power rules that govern tree trimming and removal. He was knowledgeable about the rules. I will call on A&M again and recommend this service to others.

Very professional and trustworthy. Michael tells you what he is going to do before he does it and does exactly what he said. Very knowledgeable and friendly too. Michael is also extremely reasonable in his prices and does excellent clean up. I would recommend him for any type of tree work needed. I would also call him back whenever I have a need for his services. Good man!
